Hot on the heels of the preliminary confirmation of the permit for its Irish subsidiary to fly to the US, Norwegian Air Shuttle CEO Bjoern Kjos told one newspaper that he needed to consider ordering more long haul aircraft. He told Reuters: “With this permission from the U.S. Transportation Department, we can start flying people from Africa and Asia via Europe to the U.S. We are going to need more long-haul planes than what we have ordered today… Dreamliners are the most likely option.”
