The resurrected Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) has been granted an air operator’s certificate (AOC) by the Malaysian Department of Civil Aviation (DCA). The news was announced with great fanfare by the Malaysian Minister of Transport Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, who described the AOC as “an important milestone in the evolution of Malaysia’s [new] national airline.” Christoph Mueller, the CEO of MAB, has great faith in the success of the new airlines formed from the remains of MAS.
