Jet Airways is likely to be adversely affected by United Airlines decision to suspend its codeshare with the Indian carrier since Jet earns 15% of its revenue from interline and codeshare sales. The codeshare was suspended since the FAA downgraded India’s safety ranking to category II from category I. The downgrade means that US carriers no longer can place their codes on flights operated by Indian carriers. The change does not affect the ability of Etihad and Jet to codeshare with each other.
