Vistara’s Chief Strategy and Commercial Officer Sanjiv Kapoor has criticised the “unbelievable” last-minute low fares offered by airlines such as IndiGo, GoAir and Air India. He said the low fares on the Delhi-Mumbai flight are “unsustainable.” “No airline can sustain such low, last-minute fares, regardless of business model. Last-minute, low fares are like drugs – short-term, false fix, long-term disaster,” Kapoor said on Twitter. He said the airlines should sell the extra inventory in advance and not use them “to trash last-minute fares.” Airlines were offering fares starting from Rs.2,893 for a Delhi-Mumbai flight on Tuesday.
