Indian Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh stated yesterday that Kingfisher Airlines will be allowed to operate as long as it does not compromise safety standards. “We cannot shut down the airline (Kingfisher) unless there is a safety issue”. He also stated that Air India needs to do more. Singh confirmed that Rs 30,000 crore has been pledged to the carrier, and added that the airline will have to be competitive with other players in the domestic space.
