Hainan Airlines has become the second airline in China to resume its Boeing 737 MAX aircraft service almost four years after the aircraft was grounded. The airline operated the flight on February 1, 2023 from Haikou Meilan International Airport (HAK) in Hainan Province to Kunming Changshui International Airport (KMG) in Yunnan Province. The aircraft was ferried to HAK airport the previous day from Qionghai Bo’ao Airport (BAR). China Southern Airlines resumed the operations on B737 MAX by reactivating its two aircraft last month.
