Flybe has signed a five-year deal with London City Airport to serve routes to Edinburgh, Belfast, Dublin, Inverness and Exeter. Flybe intends to acquire new aircraft to serve the new routes from the UK capital. “We want to be the champion of the regions, and the regional customer needs access to the capital,” said chief executive Saad Hammad. Hammad commented that the cost of moving into London City will not eat into the £150million the airline raised in February to support the airline’s revival.
