Due to an ongoing strike of maintenance staff, national carrier Finnair was forced to cancel 19 flights yesterday and 15 today. Finnair spokeswoman Inka Ikonen said 1400 passengers had been affected so far, and that it was difficult to estimate the costs at the moment. Members of the Finnish Aviation Union’s (IAU) began striking at 5am yesterday after a new wage deal was turned down on Sunday.
