The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued an alert about potential bogus parts on General Electric CF6 jet engines. The FAA referred to the ongoing scandal that parts supplier AOG Technics supplied bushings to TAP Maintenance & Engineering without approval from GE. The alert states that engines should be inspected and if any unapproved parts of found, they are to be removed and “quarantined to prevent installation until a determination can be made regarding their eligibility for installation”.
