The European Regions Airline Association (ERA) said on December 13 that Irish operator Emerald Airlines had joined its network of around 55 member carriers. Emerald Airlines, the ERA said, is Ireland’s newest regional airline and “the exclusive operator” of the Aer Lingus regional or short-haul services using a fleet of 13 ATR 72-600 aircraft, as well as doing franchise, wet lease and private charter flying ERA director General Montserrat Barriga said he was “delighted to welcome Emerald Airlines”. Conor McCarthy, the founder and chief executive of the airline, said he looked forward to working with ERA members.
