EasyJet has reported a 5.4% uplift in passengers for the month of October compared to the same period a year ago. The UK budget airline carried 5,530,091 passengers with a load factor of 89.1%, up just 0.7%. On a rolling basis, for the 12 months to end October 2013, easyJet carried 61,042,699 passengers, 4% more than the same period last year, with a load factor of 89.4%. EasyJet cancelled 179 flights in October 2013 against 27 in October 2012. The increase in cancellations was largely driven by air traffic control strikes at French and Italian airports.
