Delta Air Lines is planning to cut its fleet size by 15% as part of its fleet restructuring plan, however it will maintain capacity at current levels. Gary Chase, senior VP financial planning, analysis and investor relations at Delta, said that the carrier’s regional jet fleet will be reduced by 200 aircraft or more by 2015.the smaller aircraft will be replaced with larger, more efficient aircraft, to help boost revenue and lower costs, whilst not sacrificing capacity.
