Delta adds fizz to management with appointment of former Pepsi exec

Delta Air Lines has named Mike Spanos as its next chief operating officer. “The experience and perspective Mike brings to Delta will enhance and accelerate the integration across our operational, customer experience and technology teams, aligning them to deliver an unsurpassed product and service for our customers and our employees,” chief executive Ed Bastian told employers “The Delta people are the best in the business,” said Spanos, a former Pepsi executive who has worked across several continents. The incoming head of operations will start on June 1,  when he will also join the Delta Leadership Committee.
