The Communication Workers of America (CWA)-International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) Association has reached what it describes as a ‘tentative agreement’ with American airlines on a new five-year contract, concerning approximately 16,000 passenger service agents. Noting that many agents have not received pay raises in four years, the tentative agreement hopes to guarantee ‘industry-leading wage increases and job security for members’, explains the CWA. A contract ratification vote among members will be scheduled at a later date.
