Latin American carrier Copa has reported its January 2023 traffic as having topped pre-pandemic levels. “Consolidated capacity came in 1.3% higher than in January 2019, while passenger traffic increased by 6.3%. As a result, the load factor for the month was 87.1%, 4.1 percentage points higher than in January 2019,” it said. It did not provide numbers for January 2022, saying the “the irregular nature of the company’s operations starting in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic” meant comparing with 2019 was preferable.
