China Eastern Airlines had a net income of more than CNY5 billion ($793 million) in 2011, which was only a slight increase over last year’s results. Annual passenger boardings rose 5.7% year-over-year to 68.8 million for the airline, which had an average load factor of 78.8%, up 0.8 percentage point compared to 2010. Cargo traffic volume was flat at 1.5 million tonnes, while average daily aircraft utilization was 9.84 hours.
