China Eastern Airlines flew 20.6% more passengers to 716,000 and 14% more aircraft movements to 5,162 in total during the three-day May Day holiday when compared to the same period last year. To meet passengers demand, China Eastern is deploying more capacity on Southeast Asian routes by using larger aircraft. It operates 777-300ER aircraft on international routes from April 8, while widebody aircraft are also used on Shanghai Pudong-Bangkok route. More flights have been added to the Shanghai Pudong-Phuket route.
