Latvia’s airBaltic is taking four Airbus A320-232 aircraft on wet lease from Avion Express to support what it said would be a busy summer. “Although the challenges, caused by the pandemic and the war in Ukraine [are] still being felt, the aviation industry is gradually stabilising,” said airBaltic president Martin Gauss. “At the same time, the industry as a whole continues to face technical parts supply chain issues, which means we need additional capacity to carry all passengers, avoiding flight cancellations,” said Gauss, who is also chief executive. Avion Express is part of Avia Solutions Group.
