Avelo Airlines announced on March 24 that it would fly its millionth customer from Tweed-New Haven Airport the same day. Announcing the landmark, the carrier said its founder, chairman and chief executive Andrew Levy was to offer all passengers on the Florida-bound flight a free return trip on an Avelo route, Senator Richard Blumenthal and Connecticut governor Ned Lamont were lined up to join Levy and airport officials at the aircraft for the awarding of the tickets. Avelo has been flying from the airport since November 2021.
