American Airlines is raising the base cost of a return trip by $10 to offset rising fuel prices – the seventh rise this year from a US airline. Delta, JetBlue Airways and AirTran Airways have confirmed they had not raised prices, although United, Continental and Southwest did not confirm plans for any fare rises.
