Low-cost airline Airphil Express of the Philippines was forced to cancel and delay several domestic flights over the weekend because of a shortage in pilots, the airline stated yesterday. Airline officials said eight flights were cancelled while four others had to be delayed on Sunday. Nine flights were cancelled while four others were cancelled on Saturday. Airphil Express pilots had exceeded their quota in flying hours and could no longer be used. Airphil Express has borrowed pilots from sister company Philippine Airlines.
