Air Italy’s (a rebranded Meridiana, which is 49% owned by Qatar Airways and 51% by Alisarda) first flight using an A330 aircraft between its hub in Malpensa airport, Milan and New York’s JFK airport touched down in the US on Friday (June 1, 2018). Air Italy has begun its operations with six long-haul routes in 2018 from its Milan base to JFK, New York, Miami (launching on June 8), as well as Bangkok and Mumbai that will launch later this year. Two more long-haul destinations have not yet been announced The carrier has 30 Boeing 787s on order 50 aircraft
