Air Europa is reported to be on the brink of bankruptcy without an immediate capital injection of $223 million to continue operations.  Despite having received US$686 million from the State (140 through an ICO credit and another US$462 million via state rescue), Globalia’s airline division is described as being in an “increasingly delicate financial situation” despite ongoing negotiations with Iberia to revive an acquisition agreement by IAG.
