Air China has reported a 17% increase in net income to CNY3.82 billion ($622.6 million) with a 7.8% increase in operating revenue to CNY105.88 billion. Operating expenses rose by 4.8% to CNY98.62 billion in 2014. The carrier has benefited from the growth in international passengers and lower fuel prices. The Chinese flag carrier flew 6.9% more passengers in 2014 with 83 million reported boardings. The carrier has an average load factor of 79.9%, which represented a fall by 0.93 percentage points. Passenger capacity rose by 10.2% to 193.63 billion ASKs, while passenger revenue rose by 9% to 154.68 billion RPKs.
