OGMA provides maintenance services to Air Astana

OGMA was awarded with a contract for maintenance services and periodic inspections to Kazakhstan’s award-wining carrier, Air Astana’s Embraer E-190 aircraft fleet. One year after its kick-off, OGMA makes a positive assessment of this business relationship, with five of the 15 contracted shop visits already completed.

OGMA is also providing an IFE (Inflight Entertainment System) modification, which will allow passengers to watch movies and access flight information through Wi-Fi.

Since March 2016, the Portuguese company has provided a series of planned maintenance services and inspections, the so-called C-Checks, to nine Embraer E-190 aircraft, which includes airframe, components, avionics’ systems and engines.

According to Nelson Vaz, OGMA’s Chief Commercial Officer (CCO): “Our long-term partnership with Air Astana is a unique opportunity to extend our footprint in Central Asia. Air Astana’s trust on our services strengthens our position in the worldwide market, reinforcing our competitiveness and flexibility to attend multiple challenges that characterises the commercial aviation market,” says Nelson Vaz.

“OGMA has developed a great working relationship with Air Astana based on providing excellent service and quality workmanship. We are very happy to be working together and look forward to continued co-operation in the future,” commented John Wainwright, Air Astana’s Senior Vice President, Engineering Group.

OGMA is an Embraer Authorised Maintenance Centre for the ERJ family, Legacy and E-Jets aircraft. As for E-Jets (E-170/175/190/195), OGMA has already delivered about 70 aircraft, totalling over 200 thousand hours worked.
