WealthCap closes sale-leaseback on A380 for SIA

WealthCap, the Munich based initiator of closed end funds, has successfully purchased its second A380-800 aircraft on lease to Singapore Airlines (SIA), which will be placed in the German KG market. The transaction allows WealthCap to further expand their aviation track record of 25 aircraft fund transactions.

The lease term is ten years with a wide variety of extension options being available to the airline thereafter. ANZ Singapore Branch acted as the debt arranger and facility agent under a syndicated banking facility. The overall transaction was arranged by EastMerchant Capital, which also assumes the role of asset manager.

WealthCap was advised by Norton Rose, Singapore Airlines by Watson Farley & Williams and Clifford Chance advised the Senior Lenders.
This transaction for MSN 085 follows the sale-leaseback of MSN 071 that was closed late last year. The equity for MSN 071 is currently being placed in the German KG market.
