VietJet secures $60m credit line

Vietnamese low-cost carrier VietJet Air has secured a two-year line of credit for almost $60 million from BNP Paribas to finance the purchase of five A320-family aircraft due for delivery this year and next.

BNP Paribas has served as a financial adviser to Vietjet for the lease financing of the first seven aircraft VietJet received in 2014 and early 2015.

VietJetAir’s Deputy General Director Dinh Viet Phuong said BNP Paribas and Vietjet will fully tap their advantages for mutual development.

VietJet also secured a $400 million credit line with TPBank, to run through 2020, in January.

VietJet currently operates a 23 aircraft and is due to receive six-to-10 aircraft each year from its 100-strong order from Airbus.

VietJet plans to raise further funds through a stock market flotation this year, which may be coupled with bond issues and bank loans.
