ROLLS-ROYCE PLANS TO REPLACE FAULTY PART HITS SHARE PRICE

Rolls-Royce has confirmed it will replace the faulty module on the Trent 900 engine on all engines “over a period of time”, but states it will “seek to minimize disruptions and this program will enable our customers progressively to bring the whole fleet back into service.”

Qantas’ fleet of six A380s remained grounded for the 13th day as inspections of the engines continue. Shares in Qantas fell by 2.5% to A$2.72 in Sydney trading, while shares in Rolls-Royce declined 1.2% percent in London yesterday.
