Kuwait Airways eyes sukuk

Amani Bourseli, an adviser to Kuwait Airways, has indicated that Kuwait Airways may issue bonds or a sukuk to fund the purchase of 25 new Airbus aircraft as well as and lease 12 new aircraft.

Part of the purchase will be funded using the airline’s own capital and loans, with bonds or sukuk being issued depending on the decision by the board of directors.

A consortium of banks will be involved due to the size of the deal.
