Sudan seeks a resumption of Lufthansa flights to Khartoum

The Sudanese government is attempting to persuade Lufthansa to restore flights between Frankfurt and Khartoum. Lufthansa halted flights to Khartoum International Airport (KRT) in January after it became difficult for the airline to repatriate the proceeds of ticket sales due to the lack of hard currency in the Sudan. Since this situation has not much changed, it is unlikely Lufthansa will heed the government’s calls until it does.
