In a bid to offset the onward march of the Gulf carriers, Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines are discussing ways to cooperate more closely. The two airlines may expand existing code-share agreements or bringing THY into the German group’s joint venture with United or even invest in each other’s businesses via a share swap – a merge even has not been ruled out even if unlikely.
