AIR TRAFFIC TO SUDAN BOOSTED BY REFERENDUM

Airline travel has increased between Kenyan capital Nairobi and Juba, the capital of Southern Sudan. The week-long referendum on independence from the north, which began on January 9, is the reason for the increase in travel between the two African capitals.

In the run-up to the vote, traffic rose to 8,000 passengers a month from an average of 5,800.
