Willis Mitsui & Co. Engine Support (WMES) has appointed Vincent van der Gulik as its chief technical officer and business development leader.

WMES is a joint venture between Willis Lease Finance Corporation (WLFC) and Mitsui & Co. The company is an aircraft engine leasing platform and provides aviation asset management and technical services.

Gulik will lead the company's technical management functions, oversee the performance and lifecycle of aircraft and engine assets, and drive strategic growth initiatives across the aviation sector.

Most recently, he founded Next Horizon Consulting where he advised companies on aircraft and asset management and strategic transactions. Prior to that, he served as managing director of a Boeing company, Jeppesen UK, where he led complex international operations alongside strategic development initiatives.

"Vincent’s strong technical background, commercial acumen, and proven leadership in complex aviation environments make him an outstanding addition to our executive team,” said Yoshikazu Awazu, chairman of WMES. “His ability to align technical excellence with strategic growth and innovation will be instrumental as we continue to expand our global platform.”

Vincent will work closely with WMES subsidiaries and shareholders to support strategic initiatives. Additionally, he will support the company's digital capabilities, including data analytics, predictive maintenance, and process automation.
