US airlines reported a net gain of $4bn in the second quarter of 2025, up from $3.8bn a year prior. The results were reported by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS), which receives US airline financial reports quarterly.
Pre-tax operating profits were $5bn, down from $6.3bn.
Second quarter operating revenues totalled $65.7bn, made up of $49.4bn in fares, $1.8bn in baggage fees, and $260 million in reservation change fees.
Total operating expenses were $60.7bn.
