The Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Congo has signed a firm purchase agreement for three ARJ21-700s, including two ARJ21-700 regional jets and one ARJ21-700 business aircraft. The Commercial Aircraft Corp of China (COMAC) announced the deal on the opening day of the 10th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (Zhuhai Airshow) but the order was initially announced at the Farnborough Airshow in July 2014.

"The ARJ21-700 is made in accordance with the international airworthiness standards, which is an aircraft with wide market adaptability and excellent range coverage capability and is very suitable for operations in Africa," said a governmental representative of the Republic of Congo. "The air transport demand has maintained continuous growth in the Republic of Congo, which has a strong demand for regional aircraft. We are very glad to cooperate with COMAC and become the first African country to purchase the ARJ21-700 aircraft. We look forward to the delivery and operation of the three aircraft at an early date."

"We appreciate the Republic of Congo's confidence in the ARJ21-700 aircraft," said Mr. Tianmin, Chief Finance Officer of COMAC. "COMAC has been committed to providing our customers with safe, comfortable, economical and environment-friendly commercial aircraft, making efforts in the development of the world's commercial aircraft industry." He added, COMAC will join hands with the Republic of Congo to promote the air transport development in Africa.
