Thai Airways has selected NSG Skywaves, an in-flight connectivity solution from PIF-owned Neo Space Group (NSG), for its Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet. The airline will line-fit all 34 of its 787 aircraft with the Wi-Fi solution.
Thai Airways' 787 deliveries are expected to begin in 2028, and the airline will be the launch customer for the line-fit installation of NSG Skywaves on the 787 fleet.
“By selecting a factory line-fit installation, Thai Airways ensures that every new Dreamliner will be delivered with full connectivity capability from day one - avoiding the downtime, complexity, and cost of aftermarket retrofit installations,” NSG said.
The two companies first partnered in 2024 to retrofit the airline's 777 fleet, and the partnership was expanded to include the line-fit installation of the connectivity solution on its A321neo aircraft.
The airline currently has 32 A321neo aircraft on order, with the first aircraft expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2026.
The new narrowbody fleet will feature its standard economy class and ‘Royal Silk' class seats, which are lie-flat seats.
The Royal Silk class will also be implemented across the airline's existing A320 fleet.
