Stansted flights face disruption as ABM workers vote to strike

Flights at London Stansted Airport are expected to face disruption later this month after more than 100 workers employed by ABM voted in favour of strike action.

The industrial action, scheduled to take place between April 17 and April 20, involves staff responsible for assisting passengers with reduced mobility. The absence of these services is likely to slow boarding processes, potentially leading to delays across the airport’s operations.

The dispute centres on pay, with workers represented by the Unite union rejecting the company’s latest offer.

ABM provides a range of ground and passenger services at airports, including support for passengers requiring additional assistance. Airlines and passengers have been advised to expect some disruption during the strike period, particularly at peak travel times, as the airport manages reduced staffing levels for assistance services.
