SkyWest Inc., the parent of SkyWest Airlines and ExpressJet Airlines, has posted a second-quarter net profit of $17 million up $1.6 million compared to the same period last year. “We are well on our way to returned and sustained profitability,” president Brad Rich said.
Revenue was up only marginally by 0.4% to $937.2 million. Expenses reduced by 2.7% to $890.4 million, which produced an operating income of $46.8 million – doubling a $19 million operating profit in the year-ago period.
