Qatar is to resume a daily service to the Australian capital Canberra, after operations ceased during the pandemic.
The daily flights to Canberra will operate via Melbourne to the airline’s hub in Doha, with the city being Qatar’s sixth destination in Australia.
Qatar Airways Group chief executive officer, Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, noted that he is “delighted” that the airline is returning to the Australian city, and that this new route will bring “much needed healthy competition” to the market.
Commencing in December 2025, the service will be operated by the airline’s 777 aircraft.
