Qantas is set to receive its newest A220, the company said on a LinkedIn post on April 2, 2025.
The company said the VH-X4F — or ‘Rainbow Lorikeet’ — departed North America is on its way to Australia via Honolulu and Nadi.
The aircraft will be operated by QantasLink — the carrier's regional branch. The regional branch ordered 29 A220 aircraft as part of its fleet renewal programme to replace its 717 fleet. The aircraft are powered by the Pratt & Whitney GTF engines.
The first A220 was delivered in December 2023 and all 29 are expected to be delivered by the end of 2027.
