Some 58% of JetBlue Airways pilots have voted against joining a union. This is the second time they have rejected union membership to remain the biggest US airline without organized labour groups.
Although 41% pilots voted in favor of joining, the union needed a majority of 2,050 valid votes to prevail under a 2010 federal rule change.
Chief Executive Officer David Barger thanked the pilots in a statement after the vote for choosing “to retain and expand their direct relationship with the company.”
