Icelandair launches Edinburgh service and extends route year-round

Icelandair launched its service between Edinburgh and Iceland.

"The new service opens up this remarkable Scottish city to even more travellers and also offers the people of Edinburgh and surrounding areas the chance to explore Iceland and beyond," said Icelandair CEO and president Bogi Nils Bogason.

Flights will vary between three and four per week to the Scottish capital. The route was initially planned as a seasonal service, but was upgraded to year-round following strong customer reception.

The route will be operated by a 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
