flyadeal opens new operations control centre

Saudi Arabia's flyadeal has opened a new expanded operations control centre at its headquarters in Jeddah.

The new standalone Integrated Operations Control Centre (IOCC) offers four times more capacity than its predecessor, with additional operational monitoring screens and greater space to accommodate the airline's growing team as it continues to expand.

The IOCC is responsible for managing, dispatching, and monitoring daily flights.

Steven Greenway, CEO of flyadeal, said the facility was necessary due to the airline's growing capacity.

“Reaching the size we are today, operating up to 250 daily departures for the first time since our very first flight in 2017, we needed a facility and environment fit for purpose,” he said.

Greenway added that the facility will complement flyadeal's international expansion.

Mohammed Ashour, the recently-promoted head of flyadeal's IOCC, said: "Investment in an enhanced IOCC is an acknowledgement of flyadeal’s ongoing commitment to operational excellence, which is reflected by our record-breaking flight punctuality figures.

“Our focus is always to maximise operational efficiency and minimise disruptions in challenging times of adverse weather conditions and aircraft being grounded due to technical issues."

The airline flies to over 30 destinations. From January 1, 2026, flyadeal is adding Madinah as its fourth operational base in Saudi Arabia.
