American Airlines received its 1,000th mainline aircraft with the arrival of its 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
“We are excited to grow our fleet, adding even more aircraft that offer customers a premium travel experience,” American chief customer officer Heather Garboden. “Looking forward to our next 100 years, we are focussed on elevating and reimagining the onboard cabin experience along with every aspect of the customer travel journey.”
Since April, the airline has received eight 787-9 aircraft and has a total of 30 on order.
“With the addition of more premium Boeing 787-9s to its fleet, American plans to expand the Flagship Suite product on more flights to London Heathrow next year,” American said in a statement.
