Aerotec Group has acquired Croatia-based line and base maintenance provider Global Aerotech.

The transaction will allow the group to expand its maintenance capabilities and establishes a central European maintenance and aircraft transition hub in Rijeka.

Frank Kusserow, CEO of Aerotec Group: “With the acquisition of Global Aerotech, we are taking the next step towards building a customer-focused platform for aircraft maintenance, transitions and asset optimization. With Rijeka Airport, we are establishing a central European hub that enables us to combine storage, base maintenance, cabin refurbishment and teardown services in one location."

The site includes a 2,500-metre runway, 24-hour instrument flight rules (IFR) operations, and can accommodate a range of aircraft, including widebodies. Aerotec said this will provide the “operational foundation” to support more efficient aircraft transitions and maintenance programmes for its customers.

“The increasing demand for efficient maintenance, storage and asset transition solutions is driven by ongoing supply chain constraints and limited parts availability across the market,” said Aerotec Group VP operations Rene Mamet. “With Rijeka, we are creating a scalable operational platform that combines line and base maintenance capabilities with direct access to component support, enabling faster turnaround times and greater flexibility for our customers.”

The Rijeka facility is being developed to include AFRA-aligned dismantling and part-out operations to strengthen its end-of-life services.
