AerCap orders 100 Airbus A320neo family aircraft

AerCap Holdings has agreed to purchase 100 additional A320neo family aircraft from Airbus, reinforcing the lessor’s strategy of investing in the most in-demand narrowbody aircraft as airlines continue to modernise their fleets.

The order comprises 23 A320neos and 77 A321neos, including the exercise of 45 existing options and the addition of 55 new aircraft to AerCap’s orderbook. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2028 and run through 2034.

In connection with the deal, AerCap will also enter into long-term lease agreements with CFM International for 48 LEAP-1A spare engines through its Shannon Engine Support joint venture with Safran Aircraft Engines, with engine deliveries beginning in the second quarter of 2026.

AerCap chief executive Aengus Kelly said the transaction was developed in partnership with several long-standing industry partners, including Frontier Airlines, Airbus and CFM.

“By working closely with three of our long-standing partners – Frontier Airlines, CFM and Airbus – today’s transaction will drive long-term growth for AerCap through a portfolio of highly desirable, in-demand aircraft, while enabling Frontier to optimise its fleet,” Kelly said.

The order represents the largest single direct order for the A320neo family ever placed by AerCap with Airbus.

Benoît de Saint‑Exupéry said the agreement was “a powerful endorsement of the A320neo family’s enduring value and market-leading performance”.
