Italian budget airline, Wind Jet, ceased all operations yesterday. Hundreds of passengers have been stranded in Rome's Fiumicino airport. Takeover talks by Alitalia failed at the last minute and the airline is likely to lose its operating licence.
Alitalia has offered to help the 300,000 passengers across Italy with Wind Jet tickets find alternative flights but supplements will be required.
