Vietnam Airlines is requesting shareholder permission to fund three A350 aircraft using sale-leaseback deals. The A350s will be delivered in 2016-2017. The airline had planned to fund the new deliveries using commercial loans and government-guaranteed loans but it now wants to reduce its borrowing and reliance on government aid.
The airline also plans to sell two 777-2000ERs as part of its fleet renewal process.
