US passenger traffic to hit record high, TSA on alert

Post-pandemic air travel has recovered like a dream, on the flip side it has put a tremendous strain on the airport infrastructure, staff and airline operators across the globe. Going ahead, the coming weekend is expected to be the busiest 4th July travel week so far as per the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA)’s predictions.

Between June 29 and July 5, the TSA anticipates 17.7 million passengers to pass the airport security terminals on their holiday travels. The busiest of the day is predicted to be June 30, on which TSA anticipates screening 2.82 million passengers on a single day.

This will surpass the administration's all-time single-day record of 2.8 million, set on June 16 this year.

The authorities are tightening operations at security checkpoints nationwide to increase effectiveness and efficiency. TSA representatives have assured the public that its teams are prepared and will do everything possible to ensure airport operations run smoothly.

Despite these efforts, the TSA has warned all passengers that delays might occur due to the high traffic volumes along with airlines informing passengers to book all travel plans with plenty of room for delays.

Presuming all systems and operations go according to plan, the administration believes its agents should have no problem keeping passenger traffic flowing on schedule.
