IAG suffers from European Commission red tape

Following in the footsteps of their US rivals, UAL Corp and Continental Airlines, which merged have both posted strong third quarter numbers.
UAL, parent of the former United Airlines, posted a third-quarter net profit of $387 million compared with a loss of $57 million in 2009. Continental posted a net profit of $354 million compared with a loss of $18 million last year.
UAL's operating revenue was $5.39 billion, with Continental’s on $3.95 billion.
